The loyalty program that rewards every type of traveler
JetBlue TrueBlue is the loyalty program of JetBlue Airways, known for customer-friendly policies including points that never expire, no blackout dates on award travel, and the innovative Perks You Pick system that lets members customize their rewards. JetBlue operates primarily on the East Coast with major focus cities at JFK, Boston, and Fort Lauderdale, plus extensive Caribbean and Latin American routes. TrueBlue uses a revenue-based earning model where members earn points based on fare price. Standard fares (Blue, Blue Plus, Blue Extra, Mint) earn 3 points per dollar, with an additional 3 bonus points when booking directly on jetblue.com for a total of 6 points per dollar. The program features a unique "Tiles" system for tracking status qualification, with members earning tiles through spending and progressing through four Mosaic elite levels. JetBlue partners with Barclays for co-branded credit cards that offer accelerated earning and help members reach Mosaic status faster. The program also features Points Pooling, allowing up to 7 family members to combine points for faster award redemptions. Mosaic 4 members now enjoy complimentary access to BlueHouse, JetBlue's new airport lounge at JFK.
Reviews & Analysis

This card's benefits fail to justify its steep annual fee. The travel portal credit's restrictive redemption rules make it nearly worthless. Consider the JetBlue Plus card instead for better value with similar core benefits and a more reasonable cost.

The benefits of this card don't justify the **high $499 annual fee**. A higher sign-up bonus would help, as would more unique benefits that other premium cards don't already offer (like TSA Precheck and Priority Pass). However, the most problematic feature is the $300 statement credit offered on Paisly, JetBlue's travel booking portal. The restrictive rules for using this credit make it nearly worthless. If you're looking for a co-branded JetBlue card, we recommend the JetBlue Plus card with its $99 annual fee instead of the JetBlue Premier card.
The JetBlue Premier card is the airline's premium offering, with a substantial $499 annual fee. The **60,000 (current special 80,000)-point sign-up bonus**, along with 5 tiles towards status, can be earned after spending $5,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of card ownership.
Many of the other benefits are comparable to other airlines' cards of similar caliber:
- Free first checked bag for you and up to 3 eligible travel companions
- Group A boarding on JetBlue operated flights for up to 4 companions
- 50% savings on inflight food and beverage purchases
- A $120 credit towards TSA Precheck or Global Entry
- Complimentary Priority Pass Select membership for the cardmember and 1 guest
- 5,000 TrueBlue points each anniversary
- 10% back on points after you redeem points for a flight
- 6x points on JetBlue and Paisly purchases
- 2x points at restaurants and grocery stores
The biggest perk meant to offset the high annual fee is quite deceptive. While it's listed as a benefit, you need to examine the terms and conditions to discover its significant limitations. Cardmembers receive up to $300 in statement credits on Paisly, JetBlue's travel portal, but these can only be redeemed in $50 increments on purchases of at least $250. This means you must spend $1,500 to receive the full $300 in statement credits, offering minimal value compared to perks on other cards with high annual fees.
Here are some situations where this card might not be suitable for you:
- You don't fly JetBlue frequently enough or with companions, making the boarding and baggage benefits insufficient
- You don't book enough travel through portals to utilize the $300 credit with Paisly, especially considering the high spending requirement to access the discount
**JetBlue is particularly attractive if you live in New York City and it’s a convenient hub to your frequent destinations.**
- More limited routes that all run through one hub make it a less attractive utility airline option than American or Southwest.
- Points are relatively easy to collect with good transfer options and a nice airline. We just hate layovers.
The JetBlue Premier card sits at the top of the airline's card hierarchy, but offers questionable value compared to alternatives. Here's how it compares:
- **JetBlue Plus Card**($99 annual fee) provides significantly better value with:
- Sign-up bonus is the same for each card
- Free checked bags for you and up to 3 companions
- Identical 5,000 anniversary points and 10% points back on redemptions
The Plus card includes nearly all core benefits that matter for most travelers. While the Premier does add Priority Pass membership and TSA Precheck/Global Entry credits, these benefits are commonly available on many other rewards cards.
There is also the no-annual-fee **JetBlue Card**, which offers minimal value with its low 10,000-point welcome bonus
For those concerned about 5/24 status, consider the **JetBlue Business** card, which mirrors the Plus card's benefits for those who qualify
When evaluating the substantial annual fee difference between the Premier and Plus cards against the added benefits, the Premier simply doesn't deliver enough additional value to justify the premium cost.

Yes. JetBlue's first class is called Mint, and it's highly regarded by travelers. It features lie-flat seats (6'8" on domestic), premium food and drink, priority check-in, and dedicated boarding. Some aircraft offer Mint Studio with sliding doors and large TVs for privacy.
JetBlue points are valued at approximately 1.35¢ per point based on typical redemptions, with NerdWallet valuing them slightly higher at 1.4¢. You can expect around that rate when redeeming for JetBlue flights. Partner airline redemptions, especially on Qatar Airways and TAP Air Portugal, can deliver significantly higher value (1.5-2.0+¢ per point).
You can use points to upgrade to Mint, JetBlue's first class product, directly at booking. Mosaic members can use Move to Mint upgrade certificates (Mosaic 3 gets 4, Mosaic 4 gets 4+2 for each 100 tiles beyond 250). You cannot use points for "Even More Space" seat upgrades, which must be paid in cash or earned as a Mosaic status perk.
Short domestic routes, like New York to DC, can cost as low as 4,600 points in Blue Basic. Award prices are tied directly to cash prices and are fully dynamic, so the cost varies based on demand and timing. Caribbean routes typically start around 7,100 points.
Yes, TrueBlue allows Points Pooling with up to 7 members (friends and family). This is particularly useful for reaching larger award redemptions faster. As of 2026, children ages 12 and under can also have their earned tiles counted toward a linked parent's Mosaic status qualification.
Mosaic has four tiers (1-4) earned through tiles from spending and credit card activity. Mosaic 1 offers priority boarding and free checked bag; Mosaic 2 adds Even More Space at booking; Mosaic 3 adds 4 Move to Mint upgrade certificates and increased bonus points. Mosaic 4 is the only tier with lounge access (JFK and Boston starting 2026) and more upgrade certificates. Family status qualification (new in 2026) makes Mosaic worth pursuing for families with young children.
